Most adults under 65 who are not enrolled in Medicare and are covered under a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) can qualify for an HSA, but it is up to the account holders to determine their own eligibility. Please contact your tax advisor for further eligibility requirements.

2022 HDHP Limits

  • Minimum annual deductible $1,400 (individual) and $2,800 (family)
  • Maximum annual deductible plus out-of-pocket expenses $7,050 (individual) and $14,100 (family)
  • 2022 HSA Contribution Limits: (2022 contributions can be made until April 18, 2023):
    • $3,650 (individual) $4,650 if age 55 or older1
    • $7,300 (family) $8,300 if age 55 or older1

2021 HDHP Limits

  • Minimum annual deductible $1,400 (individual) and $2,800 (family)
  • Maximum annual deductible plus out-of-pocket expenses $7,000 (individual) and $14,000 (family)
  • 2021 HSA Contribution Limits: (2021 contributions can be made until April 18, 2022):
    • $3,600 (individual) $4,600 if age 55 or older1
    • $7,200 (family) $8,200 if age 55 or older1
